I don't post much, but my boss just told me that one of his good friends just went into renal failure and has been in and out of the hospital for the last 5 months because of the side effects of YAZ...and her OB-GYN has three other patients who have been hospitalized because of it too...
...I have never used YAZ so I don't know much about it, but thought I would pass around this info...

Re: NWR - Yaz
Ive been on yaz for years. Can you find out more info like why it caused renal failure?? I have an appointment for the doc tomorrow and will be bringing this up.

Re: NWR - Yaz
I'm not quite sure - I guess renal failure is one of the side effects already specified on the prescription information, but it is listed as a side effect for people with certain conditions. My boss's friend did not have these conditions - she is very fit (marathon runner) and had no pre-existing conditions...hth!

Re: NWR - Yaz
There was a post in the 09 thread from a couple of weeks ago and a lot of girls said they were getting really sick from it. I will try and find it and post it up.

Re: NWR - Yaz
ive never been on Yaz but always on ortho tri cyclen
i recently got off my BC because i was on it for 7 years (minus 9 months of pregnancy and a few before & after those 9 months)
and i have to tell you, my body is different for the better! my period used to be the wholeee 7 days and cramps, acne when it was coming. Now i only get it for 3 days, no acne, no cramping...and on top of that im not as tired and i was getting a really weird pain in my arms and legs for awhile, thought nothing of it but i noticed after i got off of BC 2 weeks later the pain went away and hasnt been back. (not sure if its related but it may be because they say BC lowers bone density)

Re: NWR - Yaz
great.... as tho I don't stress out enough already. I've definitely been nervous about getting on BC, but I finally started Yaz about a month ago. Hopefully it's okay. I dunno. I've been tired also lately, but I kinda feel like that's more from lack of sleep rather than from a pill I'm taking. I guess if I notice anything big, I'll get off. But for now I think it's been just fine.

I think it causes further complications if you Already have compromised renal/kidney problems.

well i had NO problems at ALL with BC, the longer periods, cramping and acne all started after i had my daughter, before that i loved BC lol....but it all changed so MAYBE its just my bodys changing, even though shes 4 years old now, but i see great differences off the BC then on

Re: NWR - Yaz
I was on Yaz, had some issues but remained on it until they were supposed to find something better for me, but instead I managed to get pregnant with my son.

Re: NWR - Yaz
I was on Yaz and had the worst side effects. Constantly felt dizzy and sick to my stomach. I just recently switched to Nuva Ring and love it. No side effects what so ever, not even irritable.
