Here is a little history...my period has never been regular. there was even a time where i missed it for 7months. my doctor had me take a few tests, found absolutely nothing and gave me pills to jumpstart my period. and he said i would continue to take these pills untilit was time for me to have kids. Luckily I didn;t need to take the pills(except for the 1st time) my period started to come on its own......until now. I have already missed 2 periods, going on my third. I have taken 2 home pregnancy test, both came out negative. i have an appointment with my dr today at 6. i'm just afraid of what he might find. if i have to take these pills again, tha means i'm not ovulating properly, which means i'm going to have difficulty getting pregnant when the time comes for it. i'm just a little stresses. i needed to get that off my chest. thanks for listening.
**UPDATE** i got back from the doctor. he said everything is fine. he gave me the same pills as last time (to jumptart my period).

It could be from stress. Stress plays a huge factor in regularity. See the doctor--it'll be fine.

You may be ovulating every month, just not shedding the lining of your uterus. that everything goes well. I think the pills would help regulate your ovulation as well as your period. Take them this time!!

I actually have the same problem. There is nothing to worry about. Go to the doctor tonight to be sure and calm your nerves.

I have the same problem, my period has been completey off for about 8 months...Everyone said its normal and it happens so i didnt worry...Well when i went to the doctor she told me it wasn't normal, its one thing to be irregular for a month or two but not for that long...She had to take a bunch of tests because she said i might have a cyst or i might even have internal bleeding, did a sonogram and that wasn't the problem thank god...So then she told me i have to go to a lab to get tested bc i have an hormonal inbalance. Have you got tested for this? this might be the problem if they did tests on you and nothing showed up

If any of you girls have irregular periods for THAT long please dont let it go because you think its stress, its not if it goes on for that long. GO to the doctor...They told me the most common problem is internal bleeding or cysts. Unless you're on something that will effect your period then it shouldnt be irregular for so long

yeah to check out your hormonal balance you have to go to a lab, they wont do it at the doctors office so you didnt get tested for this.
They will give you a list of labs around your area you can go to. Definitely check it out

I have the same problem as you. There's no cycle, I just have random bleeding (sometimes not for several months, other times for several weeks/months at a time). For me it's a hormonal imbalance & no ovulation due to PCOS. It's good that you're going to the doctor and getting it checked out. If it's something hormonal, or even if you're not ovulating, it's most likely treatable. You probably won't have too much trouble getting pregnant though you might need to take pills or shots. Good luck to you!!! I hope you feel better soon

Re: NWR...a little worried...kinda long
This is a very common problem that i also have. Have you lost or gained a lot of weight recently? Are your sleep patterns different? Do you exercise more or less? even alcohol can stress the body. These changes often cause abnormalities like this. Im sorry if you already mentioned, but are you on the pill? this usually helps to regulate ovulation better.
