Heaven's Doggy-Door
My best friend closed his eyes last night,
As his head was in my hand.
The Doctors said he was in pain,
and it was hard for him to stand.
The thoughts that scurried through my head,
As I cradled him in my arms.
Were of his younger, puppy years,
And Oh...his many charms.
Today, there was no gentle nudge
With an intense 'I love you gaze',
Only a heart that's filled with tears
Remembering our joy filled days.
But an Angel just appeared to me,
And he said, 'You should cry no more,
GOD also loves our canine friends, He's installed a 'doggy-door'!!!

i had to put my beautiful Abu to sleep a week ago today, so i know how you feel. if you need to talk, feel free to FM me (even though i'm an 06er!)

shegi is probably chasing Abu around right now up there in heaven.

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other.
There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth.
So, each day they run and play until the day comes when, one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!
You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace,
Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated

That was a very beautiful dog. My prayers are with you

wow i'm so sorry to hear that my puppy is only 3 years old, I don't even want to think about what life is going to be like without her..

Thanks ladies....it was hard though to put her to sleep....we've had her for 14 years and got her literally just a few weeks old...so she really grew up with us....just is so well behaved and has a personality all on her own...when she was younger we used to put a tennis ball in a tree and she would climb the tree to get the ball...she would bark whenever we asked her 'who was there'.....when she lied down, she would cross her two front legs....she was such a lady!....

cancer took here here, but God brought her up there......

I am so sorry, my dog died 3 yrs ago and I still miss her sooo much

Thanks so much ladies.....yes she is quite the cutie....my cousin used to call her a Marble Loaf b/c of the mix of brown and white colors on her coat!!

we picked up her ashes today.....and right now she's on the floor of my room....where i used to sneak her when my parents went out of the house....

I'm so sorry to hear this. I just put my dog to sleep a week ago and we had him for 12 years. I know how you are feeling.
