its my first week on it and already feel like my I.Q has dropped 10 points!!...did this happen to any of u??? Have u had any other side effects???
i was on it and stopped because it makes carbonated bevs taste totally weird, and it made me foggy and irritable. It does have a side effect of making you think slower.
I tried it for my migraines and I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!!! If you are already having side effects stop it now...I took it for 4 weeks and in the end I lost a ton of weight, was an emotional mess and seriouly could not hold onto a thought. The worst part was I had to wean off of it...so here I was a total mess and I had to wait to get off this terrible medicine.
I have been on it & to tell you the truth have noticed no side effects whatsoever. I was hospitalized last summer & had a spinal tap to figure out what was causing the WORST headaches of my life - turns out I had encephalitis (strain of west nile) - so I have been on Topomax for about a year now. I only take 1 pill & only right before I go to sleep - thats what my neurologist recommended. I dont know if this helps or not, but hope it helps a little as least.
i have been off and on topomax for a few years for migraines. it not only hasn't helped at all with my migraines but i've had a ton of side effects on it from tingling, to eye twitching to palinopsia. fm me for deets
I've been on topamax for 2 yrs....I had lots of cognitive side effects for the first couple of months but they went away completely. Carbonated beverages taste weird but that also took only a couple of months and now I don't even notice it! My migraines are finally down about 95% and I feel like I've been given my life back. I do experience some tingling in my hands sometimes but if is slight, goes away quickly and is completely harmless. I have lost about 10 lbs thus far. I wish you good luck with your experience....
im taking them for siesures but i also suffer from migraines so i heard about this one and i mentioned it to my Dr. She said it was a great substitute for the meds that i have been on which not only have been giving me headaches EVERY SINGLE DAY but making me sleepy and just moody all together. Im all for the losing weight but the whole ditzy thing i hope will subside..i had a moment today that i went completely blank...LOL...we shall see how it goes...its only been 4 days...thanks for all the input girls

My hands and feet tingled like I was being stung by a gazillion bees, I was so exhausted I would almost fall asleep midsentence and man did my intellegence plummet! I also had to take antidepressents with it for the headaches and they made me so nauseous I couldnt work.

I have been on it for almost 2 years now. When I first started taking it I did have some side affects like tingly hands in the morning, a little fogginess, and short term memory loss, thos side affects went away, but I do still feel that sometimes my short term memory is affected (it is a side affect), but I would not come off of topomax because of it, I do not want to go back to having constant migraines
