NWR:Bed & Breakfast

Amongst all the crazyness these next few weeks, my parents 25th wedding anniversary is at the end of june. They married young and never had a honeymoon. I thought it would be so nice of us (children) to send them on a vacation-just the 2 of them. I would love to send them some where warm and relaxing, however we are working with a small buget $600-$800. I can't seem to find anything within that range. So my next idea was a nice long weekend up in New England some where at a bed and breakfast-my mom has always wanted to go. I thougt it would be nice to do something like that in October when the leaves start to change. Does anyone have any suggestions? I wouldl like to keep the drive 5 hours or less. or if they fly maybe 3 hours or less. give or take. I also didn't want to send them any where during hurricane season. I am very open to suggestions! Once agian, TIA ladies-you always pull through!!

Upstate NY is beautiful at that time of year...My sister owns a store in New Paltz, and that area is very popular for getaways. The Mohonk Mountain House is supposedly gorgeous - and at that time of year the rates might be less expensive.

Another nice area is Rockport, MA. My parents go up there every other year and they love it. There are a bunch of cute b&b's there, and tons of good restaurants and cute shops.

If they like visiting nautical areas, then The Griswold Inn in Essex, Conneticut is really nice. It's right in the middle of the town, full of resturants and shops.

My fiance and I go to this B&B in Narragansett, RI it is called the Blueberry Cove Inn. It's really nice beach town and the owners are also very nice, and the breakfast is awesome.

It's close to alot of restaurants and not far from Newport RI if they dont mind driving a half an hour.

Oh and from here to there driving it is about 4 hours.

I'm afraid I have no suggestions, but just wanted to say you are doing a really sweet thing for your parents. What a lovely gesture. GL!
