Blackstone's in Melville is awesome but so is Ruth's Chris by Roosevelt Field and Rothman's in...Oyster Bay? No, it's not Oyster Bay but it's on the way to Oyster Bay on Rt. 106.

Burton & Doyle on Northern Blvd is very good. A little pricey but worth it.

I heard very bad reviews of Blackstone vs. Ruth Chris. Friends told us that the quality is identical but for the $$$ you get a lot more at Ruth Chris.

sagamore in syosset... it's so funny b/c i think burton and doyle, rothmanns, blackstone and sagamore are all owned by the same people!!
i'm having a cocktail party there in june that i won at the LIW ten year anniversary party!!!!
i've had their food before-- AMAZING!! great steak!
and i have to add that in suffolk: tellers elbow room paces garden grill have the BEST steak!!!!

They are all owned by the same people, except for Bryant & Cooper. Have to second Tellers also, love that

Peter Luger's in Great Neck (sorry, initially said Mineola ) - the best of the best!!! Ruth's Chris is a close second.

#1 on LI and I think the country is Peter Luger's in Great Neck. I went there for V-Day- OMG, the food was phenomenal.

PETER LUGAR's. But is in Great Neck, not Mineola as some one mentioned.
We went there for V-Day too and it was amazing. But you have to bring cash. They don't take cc's!

I completely agree. Peter Luger's is at the very top of my list.
ETA: If anyone is looking for a phenomenal steak house in the city, I recommend Old Homestead Steakhouse. It was soooo good and the portions were huge.
