NWR...But anyone good with knowing what walls to paint?

NWR...But anyone good with knowing what walls to paint?

lol. I know silly but we want to paint our downstairs. but i wanted acent walls. we decided on all the walls light brown then two walls being the acent walls. A darker Brown.

Is there a certain way you should do it? or no?

I believe the largest wall should be the lightest wall...

I could be wrong - but i watch a lot of those home shows...

Well we have a lot of large walls and then the two i was thinking of doing the acent (dark color) would actaully be the two small walls. so that makes sence! Thanks. now i feel better lol

OK, just asked FH since he builds houses and deals with the interior decorators a lot. He says that it can be either wall, but it should be a wall that will be nearest to your main piece of furniture. So if you are doing your living room, you would want to do the wall that either your couch or your entertainment center sits on so people are automatically drawn to that wall when they see it. Don't know if that makes any sense, but he says that it doesn't matter what size the wall is, just where your furniture will be. Hope that helps a little!

hmm so the dark wall (acent wall) should be the wall where the main furniture goes on?

Is ther a fireplace or any other type of focal point? If not, then it should be the wall that the furniture/seating area is b/c that would be oyur focal point.

I have my accent wall as the main wall you see when you walk in my livingroom (where my couch is) you should not have the accent walls opposite each other...it makes the room look smooshed in....i hope that makes sense.....i posted a pic....the orange is my accnt wall...you see it as soon as you walk in....al the other walls are orange.....it is not a pic from the best angle, but the pic i just took is too dark hope this helps hmmmmm my first picture in a post-hope it works not so much......i will put in my album and keep trying...sorry

Thanks ladies. My down stairs is soo werid. its like you walk in and there is the big living room then the dinning room then the kitchen. There are sooo many walls hehehehe.
