I hears it is going up to $4 a gallon by summer.
Thank God I use the Lirr for work and it's a two min drive from my house!

OMG!

They say it is going to go up to $5 by the end of May and than drop back down to $3 in the middle of the summer!!

I paid $32 today to fill it half way! There is no way I'm leaving my tank below half now!!!

I paid $3.09 in Port Jeff Sta. Radio was stating that the average today was $3.17 on the Island.

By the end of the year, we may be at $4 -

And only b/c the gas companies want $5 billion in profits!

just be thankful that the US doesnt put on that much taxes on gas, like other countries do.

i wouldnt say entirely that it is the gas companies that want to make money as the sole reason the price is so high. it is more political IMO. OPEC raising the prices per barrel etc. a few OPEC delegates have stated that a reason (for higher prices) is US foreign policy (fears of a strike on Iran etc, there is so much going on in the mid east that we are doing).

the US needs to start building more refineries ASAP; we havent built one in a while. i am a bit worried what this will do to our ecomony.

$49.50 for my small SUV.... not even on empty and the price went up again.

I'm going to start taking the bus or riding a bike or something...

Oh, I completely agree that it's political as much as it is financial. I find it funny that we live on an Island with so many ports, etc and yet our gas prices are higher than what my parents are paying in western NY!!!

I am in Ft Lauderdale right now and the prices are pretty much the same as on LI. Unfortunately, we keep getting lost and are wasting a ton of gas driving around in freakin circles!!!

$3.15 out here in Queens...

I just dropped my bike off to be tuned.. thinking of riding that around for a while..

Not only will I save money, but I will get in shape for the big day as well!!!
