I have to travel for work this week and I'm packing my bags... I usually don't check any luggage because I want to be able to get in/out of the airport as quickly as possible (flight lands in Boston at 8:20, meeting starts at 9am in the financial district). Can I bring makeup (liquid foundation) in my carryon? I know I can buy new toothpaste, mouthwash, etc. but makeup is kinda pricey....does anyone know?

My co-worker flew home from VA this weekend and said she had to toss all her make up into her checked bag - she said they only allowed her to have lip gloss that she ahd in her pocket.

...I just got back from flying yesterday....and you can have Solid make up only...i.e....lipstick..powder....no gels, lotions, glosses foundations......

no - my advice is dont even bring a carry on.
i had to fly home from business thursday last week - the morning after and thank god i checked everything. i literally walked onto the plane w/ a pocketbook and a magazine.
they made co-workers i was with throw out - lip gloss, mascara, liner, etc. another guy had to toss cologone. its better off to check everything.
its a big PIA - but seriously i breezed trhough security and i was so grateful.

just got back from a long flight. you can take anything absolutely solid, so no mascara, lip gloss, perfume, liquid foundation.
you can have solid lipstick and a solid compact though.

No liquid or gel in anyform. So.. no liquid foundation. You can pack it in your checked bag if you have one. Or use powder. I use bare escentuals so I was OK. I actually checked in my lip gloss also.

We just flew home from Florida and I could only bring my powder compact on and a solid lipstick. To be honest you are better off checking all your bags. It was such a pain in the butt coming home. My FI bought me a beautiful snow globe right before we left Disney and I didn't think anything of it so I put it in my carry on. Well I got escorted to check my bag like I was some criminal. I was totally embarrased, but happy at the same time that they took all the needs to make our flight safe. Didn't put two and two together that the snowglobe was liquid.
