So, I am looking for a career change and was thinking about becoming a paralegal. I wanted to see if any of you lovely LI ladies are paralegals so you could give me some incite! Like what type of educational background is required.

haha. i was just thinking the same thing the other day! (only, not becoming a paralegal, i wanna be a vet assistant so bad). i hate doing accounting, im bored. lol.
my aunt is a paralegal at a workers comp firm, she loves it. those jobs are always in demand. good luck!

paralegals sounds fun!! dont know anything about it tho... one of my friends is a legal secretary she is on the 2011 board maybe u can raid their board and they can give u advice too

I actually was a paralegal for years and got sick and tired of doing all of the work for the atty and not getting the same pay. I am now in insurance.
There is a paralegal certificate program through Suffolk if you want to go to school for it.

You have to get the paralegal certificate. Most places won't hire you without it. It's not a bad gig. Just don't work for the sketchy attorneys I have to deal with on a daily basis.
