NWR..Carpel Tunnel Syndrome

Anyone know if there is a way to treat this besides surgery? Is it worth even going to the doctor for, or should I just live with my hands being numb lol.

My mom had the surgery because it was just becoming too unbearable for her. Prior, she would wear that wrist band thing when she slept and especially when on the computer. She also would do some exercises with her hand that the Dr. taught her to do, but it obviously did jack. lol
