NWR..For those of you job hunting

Has anyone else been getting no responses when sending out resumes? I've been looking through local papers, craigslist , internet and monster. I actually got this job on Monster. I know people are gonna say oh the economy, but there are jobs out there since there's listings. I just don't know why I'm getting no called backs and only one interview in 3 months. During my last job search I was getting like a call a week. Should I just post my resume on job boards?

Yes!! i feel exactly the same way......i've been looking for 5 months and got a total of 2 responses......2. i was worried so i had everyone in my family look at my resume because i thought maybe i was an idiot and spelled something wrong.......lol
But i also know that there are TONS of people looking for jobs and i'm guessing the employers are getting swamped with resumes.....i'll probably call a head hunter soon......good luck out there!

I work in HR and the only thing I can say is that there are SO many people out of work that the number of resumes each posting is getting can be INSANE. So not everyone is going to get a call back since there are so many resumes to choose from...

I know it stinks...

yes! it is beyond frustration too!!!! i got one call back and it wasnt the right job....and that was a hard decision to make, because, you want a job and they are the only ones calling you but its not the right job for you at all.

good luck ladies!

yes, its difficult right now bc there are some jobs available but theres SOO many talented ppl looking for jobs that companies are getting too many applications for each job. That is why we aren't getting many call backs!

Re: NWR..For those of you job hunting

I currently have a job (for today at least)...but my days here are numbered. My boss encouraged me a few weeks ago to 'look for something else' due to the lack of work within the office. So I have been looking for almost a month and the only responses I have gotten is from staffing/temp agencies offerring RIDICULOUSLY low paying jobs.

I went on an interview last night, out of my league most likely, but today I am supposed to hear back if I get a 2nd interview of not...this is the longest day ever!!!!!

HotJobs, CareerBuilder, Monster, Craigslist are the sites I use.

FRUSTRATING!!!!

When FH was out of work he experienced the same issues...

I know it does not sound ideal but since he couldn't get a job in his field he took a server job to continue making money. I make pretty good money, but in no way are we a one income household...

Sometimes you can take a non-ideal job while you are looking...kinda takes the pressure off a bit because you are still bringing money in....
