NWR...IM PETRIFIED!!!

Tomorrow im starting a new job and i cannot be anymore nervous.....its in the city and working for a HUGE organization and im ready to pee my pants. i wish i could just run back to my old job and hid out under my old desk. I worked there since i was 20 and grew so attached to everyone. It was so hard to leave and walk away but i knew i had to because this new job had alot to offer that my other job would NEVER be able to....EVER!!!....but i cant help but feel like im not ready to move on. Ive been postponing this new job for months and now its here...i feel like im going to fall flat on my face and get lost in the city!!

I think i need a hug...and i couldnt think of anyone else better to ask then my '10 girls....


Any advice?????

I know what you mean! I felt the same way when I started the job I am at now (and have been for 5yrs) but you'll be fine!!! You'll get to meet new people and learn new things. Pretty soon your new job won't feel new anymore and you'll be happy you left your old one.

by the way, not sure if your old job was in the city, but I love working in the city, so much to do, see, places to eat, and things to try!!! you'll be fine!!!!!

Keep your head up and know that you deserve something more (in this case, more than what your old job offered) and you will be fine! You will get used to it. We've all had to start over and we made out ok! You will do well!!!

I dont know if this advice will make you feel better because I am also scared and nervous when starting a new job but its just some things I try to remember when starting a new job that its hard to remember when your all nervous on your first day, week, etc.

First, as horrible as this sounds, I always tell myself, Im going to cry at somepoint at the start of this new job ...for me, it just always without fails happens because I get overwhelmed, confused, etc, and if I accept this from the beginning that I will feel this way when I begin, it will be a lot easier when it happens.

But on a positive note, they hired you for a reason...because they thought you were capable of doing the job and they wanted you as an asset to their company! Take a deep breathe and try your best to relax. Dont be afraid to ask questions and take it one step at a time...every job is overwhelming at first so dont worry. As far as the city goes, even though people are rushing around and everything, they are mostly friendly so just stop and ask if you get lost! good luck babe!!

First days of work are sooo difficult for everyone! Be aware that it will take you a few weeks or months to get used to the simplest things... don't let it overwhelm you!!! Just know that you're soo lucky to be moving up and getting more responsibilities! For a lot of us, it's been really tough to spread our wings in this economy.
