...I've been searching for a new job as I despise my current position, and I went on what I thought was a good interview about a month ago and I just found out I didn't get the job. Of course, my FH is unreachable right now, so I can't even vent to him.

Donna, some things happen for a reason. One thing I would say, and this may sound way out there, if you have a chance, consider asking the hiring authority (with n pressure now that you did not get the job) what you might have done differently for this job as it was one you were really interested in. I once had the second runner call and ask me that about a job I hired someone else for and 1. I was so impressed by the professionalism of this person whose sole motivation seemed to be the desire for self improvement 2. Really impressed me that they wanted the job and when candidate number one wound up taking her counteroffer, I called him right up and offered him the job. That was 18 months ago and he is a rising star. Anyway, at worse you will get some honest feedback -- and who can't ever use that!

I'm sorry I know how you feel. I've hated my job since I started here in November 02- and I'm still here you aren't alone- this has happened to a lot of people- there just aren't any good jobs out there.

I'm so sorry, Donna!! I hate my job too, and have been looking as well. Its such a frustrating situation, especially when you think that an interview went well, and you find out that you didnt get it. I know its somewhat cliche, but seriously, everything Does happen for a reason. Debs idea was so great, and you should look at this as a stepping stone. Happiness will come your way,,, just hang it there!! (thats what i keep telling myself, anyway)

Im sorry, but I am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason. Although you may not see it now there is a reason you didnt get that job. I never heard from a job prospect in June, I was very disappointed but then at the end of June I went on an itnerview in another district, got the job and have since heard the original district I did not get hired from is having major money issues and other problems soo... I am soo happy at this new job too. I know something good will come of your experience. Hang in there.
