How much did you spend on your king size mattress and box springs? FH and I are purchasing ours this week and I'm trying to figure out the average. Thanks!

Re: NWR...King size bed owners
we spent a little under 5K.... we bought a tempurpedic and both of us don't regret it one bit.... as silly as it sounds we were able to 'finance' the mattress for zero percent until 2015 through raymour and flannigan

Re: NWR...King size bed owners
We bought ours a few weeks ago at bedquaters. It was a stern and foster and we only spent 1700. Their most expensive king was only a little over 2 grand and they are spooky nice there!

Ours was a little over $4,000 (including tax and delivery and bargaining)...but it was the best investment we ever made!!
We are brats when we go on vacation because no bed compares.
We got Sleep to Live 800 series.

We got a Sleep To Live 400- around $3000 (on a Labor Day Sale)....and we are sooo totally bed-brats too! Nothing is ever as comfy!

Thanks, I think we are going to go with a Serta ultra plush pillow top. The store was selling it for $3200 but I saw it on the Sleepys website for $2,000. I wonder why it's so much cheaper online than in the store

i have this bed (i think) and paid about 1700 but it was some major sale for a holiday weekend (maybe memorial day--- just by chance) and when we saw it was on sale we got it right away- From sleepys (in store)-- but we did not need anything for under the bed because the furniture we bought has the bottom piece (i dunno what that piece is called) lol. oh and they threw in a free mattress cover (which the woman swears we will need once we have kids and thye get sick on our bed or something) --- she loved us bc we were buying it for our first place and were engaged, etc etc--- she learned about our whole life story :)

i don't have a king, and we will probably be getting a queen, but i just wanted to say that if you are going to spend 'extra' money on anything, it should be your mattress!!!! think of all the time you spend on it!!

Re: NWR...King size bed owners
We spent about 4,700 for ours. We have two extra bedrooms with Queen beds. I have to tell you a friend told me to go to IKEA for those mattresses. So I did and everyone loves them. Everyone says it is better than my mattress.
they are so much cheaper too.....

Re: NWR...King size bed owners
As a money saver we have two twin box springs...which equal a king bed. And got a great king mattress. Its the mattress you want to worry about more than the box spring.

I believe w/ sleepys Serta has there own line there - so be careful when picking - it may not be the same - it is made by Serta for Sleepys where it's Sleepy's name.....
ETA: We got our Pillow Top King at Raymour and Flannigan - we spent about 2500 on top of our bedroom furniture - but it's already sagging - so not happy

Re: NWR...King size bed owners
Wow - I guess we are very frugal. We ordered one through EBay and we LOVE it!!! – They have awesome reviews. They have a king for $430.
