My mom calls me last night to inform me that my Dad got laid off. I swear some people are just so classless, to lay someone off a few days after xmas and right before the new year. And the owner of the business didn't even have the balls to do it, he made one of the GM's call my Dad and do it over the phone. Fortunately he has a lot of connections in the business he is in, so he seems to think he won't have trouble finding a new job, but unfortunately isn't really the season for hiring people in his field. Sorry, just had to vent.

Awwww I'm sorry! That is so pathetic that his boss had to get someone else to do it.... You are totally right, some people really do not have class. Tell your Dad to hold his head up high and start using his connections. I'm sure that he will have no problem finding another job. And I am sure that he would not want you to get stressed out(even though it is perfectly natural for us to). Don't worry Meg it will all work out! '08 has to be better!

Oh no! Thats terrible! You know, you try to believe that all people are good, but really they are not. There are so few good people in the world. Except for 09 LIW brides of course!
My prayers go out to you and your family. Although it really stinks, be thankful that your family is not in the position that a layoff could really RUIN everything. I'm sure your dad is an excellent worker and he will bounce back and find something even better very soon.

Oh i'm sorry that happened. People can be really F-ed up in the head. But look at the bright side, he has time to spend with his family and take care of things. And when the time comes, he'll have a job and things will go back to 'normal'.... Hope everything works out...

I'm so sorry..the same thing happened to my dad a few years back..right before the holidays he was laid off from a job he had been working at for 30 years!!!! Well it worked out for the best because now he works for a better company with a much higher salary! keep your head up..things always have a funny way of working out!

I am so sorry!!! I swear people have no hearts anymore!! A similar situation happened to my cousin a few weeks after she found out she was pregnant. People are really disgusting! I wish your dad the best with finding a better job in the new year!

Thanks girls. I know things could be worse, my Dad is just such a calm down to earth guy and it ***** that someone would do this to him. Plus, since my Mom doesn't work (she has been on disability since I was in 6th grade). I know she is going to be on his case to find something and yelling about how much he should be asking for/making. Which won't make him feel any better. He works his butt off for her and I feel like sometimes she doesn't appreciate it (he worked 60+ hours a week at his last job and it was like it was never enough.). I wish I could just tell her she needs to chill but then she get all bent out of shape and starts yelling and screaming.
