I am so sorry for your loss. All 3 of my pets died within a year and a half. We had to put down 2 and my baby, my cat, died the night before I had to put him to sleep.
I swore I would never ever get anymore pets because it was too hard when something bad happens to them. This past Novemebr my FSIL (another animal lover) found a dog running in the streets, so of course she brings it home like I would have. I wouldn't go look at her because I knew what would happen. She tried and tried to find a home for the dog, she even brought it to the groomer, lol...
Well after a day she kept begging me to just go look at her, that's cause she knew I would take her. I took her home and she destroyed my mother's house, :( , but I still have her and I love her more than anything :)
Your doggie was gorgeous and I know it's hard now but it will get easier and you will know deep in your heart that it was for the best for your dog.
