I am a manager at a fast food restaurant and cant deal w/the way people treat me anymore 2mths ago someone spit in my eye and called me a stupid fat b***h I get called names all the time and i am so nice to these people i go out of my way to do whatever for them and w/ a i dont know what everyones problem is but i cant deal w/it anymore the only reason i have to work there is b/c i dont trust babysitters w/my kids so i stay home during the day and work part time at night.Anyway im to the point of where im going to start sticking up for myself and start telling people when they are being a******s.Sorry i needed to vent.do you agree though that i should stick up for mysel even if im chancing loosing my job?TIA

OMG I am soo sorry to hear that happens to you! People are horrible especially when it comes to there food. I give you soooooo much credit for doing what your do and being there for your children!! Vent anytime you need to..we are here for you!
I am so sorry to hear about what you have to deal with. Some people are VERY unreal! I definitely think you should stick up for yourself because NOBODY has the right to treat you like that. I would just try to do it in a way where you won't necessarily end up losing job. There is a way to get your point across without losing your mind on people (however, I know how some people can really provoke the mind lose!!). And if you end up losing your job b/c you chose to defend yourself, it is probably best in the end b/c that is no place for you to have to work. Employers should stick up for their employees even if it means losing a few dollars (unless of course the employee is a rude SOB but I doubt that is the case with you!!). You seem like a very sweet person and no one, NO ONE should ever treat you like that.
I hope things get better for you!
And try not to let these people get you too down. Remember in the end you are the better person b/c you know not to treat people that way.

That is so aweful. If someone spit in my face I probably would have beat them down right then and there and lost my job. I work in customer service and I know what it is like to have confrontational customers but that is ridiculous!
I truely think you need to do what is best for you. I hope things get better!

sorry to hear that. you certainly don't deserve that kind of treatment. besides worrying about getting fired - i would be just as, if not more, concerned about the wack jobs that are out there. i guess i'm just saying to be careful b/c you never know if the person you talk back to is actually a nut just waiting to crack. your safety is most important.

i can totally relate to your situation. i worked in retail (clothing) for 9 yrs. about 1.5 yrs ago i changed jobs to an office postion. i am so happy that i did that!!! you really had to know when to pick your battles, bc either way the company was gonna side with the customer anyway and make you look like an idiot. i couldnt take it anymore with ppl treating me bad because i was on the opposite side of the counter. just keep your head up and kill em with kindness!!!

If someone spit in my face, I would probably wipe it with a tissue, then start dialing the police department without saying a word. When the person who did it started to ask you what you're doing, or acting up, i'd just say calmly, 'If you feel this strongly, perhaps you'd like to state your case to the police. I'm sure they wouldn't mind taking your statement why you just assaulted me by spitting in my face. You don't have to say much, I have the evidence right here.'
That will get them not to come back, and will show other customers you mean business.
I'm sorry you have to deal with people like that. I would be fuming!

That is ridiculous. Yes stand up for yourself and put these people in their places. I work as a waitress part tiime so I know exactly what your talking about. People think that they're better than you because of the jobs that we work. Why not talk to the district manager and have them set up cameras or bring in a security guard to deal with these A******* that you have to deal with. Then maybe these stupid people can be prosecuted for their actions

How horrible! And people wonder why bad things happen to their food! I could never do that to someone. I am so sorry you have to go through with that. I can never treat a person who handles my food that way.
I think you should stick up for yourself. It will be healthy for you to do so.
