NWR...Need help deciding where to go on vacation

DH and I want to go on a cruise to bermuda OR Key west next month. Never been to either one. Any comments?

i've never been to either but a friend of mind goes to key west EVERY YEAR and loves it soooo much. won't go anywhere else on vacation!

Thanks!! We love the fact that its only a 3 hour plane ride. We were gonna fly to ft lauderdale and we want to take a convertible and drive over the bridge.

Thanks!! We love the fact that its only a 3 hour plane ride. We were gonna fly to ft lauderdale and we want to take a convertible and drive over the bridge.

I did that...it was a GREAT trip! Definitely get the convertible! One thing about Key West though, there arent too many beaches there. If you are looking for a 'beachy' type vacation, you might be a little disappointed

I LOVED bermuda, it is so beautiful. I told FH i want to go back. We went on a cruise there but would like to go stay a couple days

since we didnt have time or $ for a big honeymoon, we actually went to key west and stayed there for 4 days. definitely fun, but dont stay there for more than 4-5 days unless u plan on lying on the beach the entire time! definitely fun, though. it's a like one big party every night on duval st.

went to key west in Oct with a cruise ship. It was nice but mainly shopping and walking. I heard the bridge is great, but slow. Have a coworker that goes to Key West many times a year. It rained when I was there and we only stop for a few hours.
I wasn't crazy about Jaimaica for the cruise stop except Dunns River. Also went to Grand cayman. the beach is a def must. Absolutely gorgous!

been to both and loved them both, but they're really different. i'd say bermuda for beaches and key west for night life.

I just went to Key west last May for a wedding. I live in south FL, and we drove down (the convertible/bridge thing you mentioned). First off, it's a LONG ride. As soon as you hit Key Largo, you still have another 3 hrs to go, and its 1 lane pretty much the whole way. (you will get pulled over if you speed!) It's very scenic. But, like the other post said, if you are looking to swim and lay on the beach, this isnt really the place. The keys are surrounded by a coral reef, which protects the keys from the ocean (there are no waves here). Also if you go in the water, the floor is covered with sediment or limestone. It's really not what I expected. We spent our days at the pool. But there are great bars, and cute restaurants all over Duval St and the surrounding area. Also, when the cruise ships dock, look out. The streets get jam packed w/ the tourists. You can rent a bike or moped to get around. We stayed at the Southernmost Hotel. If you have any ?'s FM me, but I would say go to Bermuda. It just really depends what you are looking to do.

i have been to key west..dont remember it too much i was much younger.. but I would definately do Bermuda if I were you...

Both places are beautiful. Bermuda is off the coast of the Carolinas (several hundred miles of course) - the water might be a little cold (not freezing). So between those two, I would say Key West.

I would suggest Bahamas since its easier to get there than key west.
