NWR...so sad

So, FH calls and asks me to check if there are any service alerts for the LIRR, all the trains are delayed and needs to know what to do...

I look it up and the Babylon line has been suspended due to someone being hit my a train in Massapequa (will live in Massapequa Park)

So sad...awful way to go

I saw it!!!!! When the train passed the Massapequa station I saw a person laying under a yellow blanket. Their leg was sticking out. Not a sight to see at 7:20am

Yes it is raised but you can't walk it still. It was probably a suicide.

Uggh, you saw? I wasn't near a window...not that I wanted to see, but I was just surprised how quickly we got through. So, I was curious if there were still a lot of cops there. My train was sitting in the Lindenhurst station when they made the announcement, and we really weren't held there that long which surprised me. According to Newsday, he jumped. Very sad.

I just found out it was one of FH's clients. He was a father of two. So horrible.

We MUST be on the same train in the am (6:42 Babylon). We were held for all of 15 mins. at Lindy... I was suprised too at how fast we got thru.

Re: NWR...so sad

i commuted for about 6 months last year and saw two people fall on the tracks (one a little kid who fell through the gap and another guy who passed out onto the tracks - both at babylon and both were ok) and heard of another. after having a conversation with one of the 'gap guards' at jamaica who told me how often it happens i just had to stop commuting and moved back to the city sooner than i had planned. it's awful.
