NWR:Teachers- Symbols of Citizenship lesson plans?
I am looking for some fun units to teach K and 1st grade about the meaning our Flag and other symbols of the U.S.
Any ideas???

I teach 3rd grade. I have taught 2nd grade as well.

Ever done maps with second grade ? At the end of the unit, I want to make a big map with the class of the school.
I don't know how, but it's a thought.......

Since I have been teaching, there has been a full time Social Studies so I haven't had to cover that curriculum.
For maps, you could give each group of kids a section of the building to map. Have each group make a mural of their section and then put them together on the wall.

I am looking for a permanet city job. I think I am losing my job in June
I am a F status teacher 3 dass a week and I sub in the same school the other two days.
I hope they have a full-time positon to keep me.
