NWR:Very Personal: Breast Implants..

Ok, so I had gastric bypass surgery at the end of 2005 and I lost half of my weight (165lbs.). Yes, I know, it's wonderful except for the fact that I now need implants and a lift.

Since you all are SOOOOO helpful with everything else... Can anyone tell me if they have had implants and the true recovery period, cost and recommend their doc??

I know this is way personal but I REALLY need help. I'm getting my boobs done before our JUly 2008 wedding so anything you can add will be appreciated.

xoox,

Re: NWR:Very Personal: Breast Implants..

I have wanted them forever, but havent saved enough money...I know several people that have gotten them done, and all recovery periods differ. I knwo someone from the gym had the procedure and she was up and moving in the same week, but just couldnt lift her handsover her head very well. Another girl I know was in bed for 2 weeks, and had pain with every move she made (but still doesnt regret it)

This is a very important decision to make and I belive it takes careful planning. I would research/speak to many different doctors, and really do your 'homework.'

If you were happy with your surgeon, i would suggest speaking with him about any questions or feelings you are having at this time.

Good luck with everything!

Thanks. I actually spoke to my surgeon but the person he recommends isn't experienced enough for my liking --he just started performing breast augmentation last year. but thanks for your input.

My friend got it done about 7 years ago and they look so good. They arent round looking or anything and there is no scar.

She did say that the healing was really painful but so worth it.

Good luck!

Here is where she went:

Re: NWR:Very Personal: Breast Implants..

I had them done 4 years ago at Cosmetic Surgery of NY on 347 in Port Jefferson. My DR was Dr. Misholi, and he was wonderful. No pressure, answered a million questions from me, and just really made me feel comfortable. I went from a 34 A to a 36 C and I love them.
I am a dog groomer, so I do a LOT of heavy lifting. My recovery time was 2 weeks. But I was walking around the same day I got the implants no problem. If you work in a profession where you don't have to do a lot of heavy lifting, then I would say you could be back to work after 3-4 days.
The cost was $5600-now this was four years ago, so it may have gone up a little. I know they have payment plans, I just paid a bank check and got the payment over with.
I had such a positive experience and highly recommend my plastic surgeon. Any more questions-feel free to FM me, and Congrats on your weight loss.
