Thats so true....I'm a CPA and we used to get calls ALL the time. Now its decreased drastically.

Me too - I met with one yesterday and have been emailing with another but it's slim pickings.
Plus, they told me if I switch jobs I prob won't get a good pay bump, which would just defeat the purpose. Looks like I shall be commuting for awhiel!

i had one call me a few weeks ago on a tuesday morning at about 9:35.. I was running late, usually I'm walking out the door at 9:40, but I was still in a towel trying to get dressed... this woman calls, totally catches me off guard, I haven't sent out a resume in MONTHS and she tells me if I'm interested I have to come in at 10:20.. I was like ' i have work at 10 and I have nothing prepared' so she said she'd call me back.. never did. and honestly, it sounded like a great job

Im a CPA too and I just changed jobs 3 weeks ago. But it did take me well over 6 months to find something and I didn't get the kind of pay bump you used to get. But I think those days are gone.
