NY marraige license ??

Question on the 24 hour waiting period. My mom called the county clerk and was told we could come in on a Friday to get the license for our Saturday wedding. But I also see that there is a 24 hour waiting period.

FH and I have to travel in from out of town, so we want to make sure and get the license on time FH has a new job so he wants to try to save most vacaton time for HM, not prior to wedding...

How does this work exactly, do you think Friday morning would be okay???
