NY Wedding Cruise?

NY Wedding Cruise?

Has anyone had or looked into a wedding cruise around manhattan? We want something fun and unique and not too much planning. I am from NY but my fiancee isnt. We'll be having people come in from Texas, Hawaii, and all over the country so we want to make sure to show everyone a good time.

any thoughts on the wedding cruise, prices, etc?

i looked into them.. they look very cool and pretty reasonable. the only reason i didn't go w/ that was because of weather..and i know that probally sounds stupid but if it was raining and i was on a boat..it would just be miserable....if im in a hall and its raining ..i think i could deal

plus i dont know how many family members enjoy being in the water

I looked into a ship that leaves out of the nautical mile area and it was at a good price, but yeah when factoring in the possible crappy weather and being on a rocking boat doesnt seem like a fun idea

Re: NY Wedding Cruise?

We live in the UK and we are coming to NY to get married in July nad we have booked to have our evening reception on dinner cruise around manhatten.

Its with the Spirit Cruise company on their newly refurbished boat. It departs from Chelsea Piers.

When over in New York in January we went and looked at the boats and met with an organiser and just thought that it would be amazing for our guests - especially those that have never been to NY before!!

We've got 40 people at our wedding and have booked for buffet style meal and unlimited drinks which has cost us about $5600.

Hope this helps!

Yea, I think it sounds like a lot of fun, esp for people from out of town. Does your price quote include a DJ, pictures or anything else? From what I've been researching it can be pretty expensive. We plan to have about 100 people.

Yes it included a Dj, i think they have a photograher going round but you have to pay extra for the pics. I think we board at around 630pm and then return back to the dock at around 1030/11pm.
Im really looking forward to it and just know my guests are going to love it!!

We spoke to a really lovely lady called Kathleen Mahoney at Spirit cruises, so she might be able to help you.

Oh and the drink package includes all drinks including champagne and sparkling cider and the guest can drink as much as they like.

You don't have to book a drinks package but as we only had 40 people coming over from the UK it fit in our budget so we booked it.

We've done several harbour cruises in New York in the evening (including New Year to watch Fireworks over the harbour) and it has always been a good night!!

I thought about this for another event (birthday party) but decided not to because:

1. The boat leaves at a certain time and anyone who's running late or got stuck in traffic will literally miss the boat

2. Some people get seasick -- my mom, for example, would puke her guts out

3. It'll suck if it rains

It's a very romantic idea though!
