Hi Ladies- need help finding an affordable hair person- I am in MAJOR need of a dye job, but don't feel like making the schlep to L.I... thanks.

The Aveda school (The Carsten Institute - 22 E. 17th St. 212.675.4884) does dye jobs for like, 30 or 40 dollars. I get my hghlights there all the time. They are done by students but are 100% supervised by a professional colorist. If you don't mind someone who is learning doing it, go for it! (I have never heard any horror stories or even people who were remotely dissapointed!)

I will never have my hair dyed there- they are the ones that screwed it up in the first place- a cut or blow out- no problem.. color- heck no!
