Hi everyone! We're searching around for a NYC restaurant with a private room for my friend's bachelorette party. She lives in Manhattan, and most of us are familiar with lots of good restaurants in the city, but we're looking for one where we can have great food & drinks in a private room...and in an environment that's not the 'typical' bachelorette thing (i.e. Mangia E Bevi, Lucky Cheng's etc) since that's not her style. An upscale place with delicious food and a private room...anybody have any experiences or suggestions to share? TIA!!

Re: NYC Bachelorette Dinner
My DH just attended a bachelor party for him and 7 other guys at Il Cortile on Mulberry St. It was not crazy-the food is great and they had a private room to themselves!
I've had some company functions there as well and they all come back singing my praises about it.
It's a little Italy place, just to give you warning. There's also Il Cantinori which is fabulous (I was just there last night)..that has the back of the restaurant you can have privately. They food was unbelievable and very upscale. It's on 10th and University.

Thanks for the suggestions! We're looking to book it for the first weekend in January...kind of short notice! I'm thinking that Il Cantinori might be hard to book at this point...although it sounds YUM! A friend of mine is looking into the private rooms at Blue Water Grill. Has anyone been to a private party there?

Hey Ginny! I had my FH's 30th birthday at this restaurant. The room isn't private, but it's at the back so it feels cut off from the main restaurant. The food is delicious. There's also Public in the Nolita area. It has a private room and someone on this board is having a small enagement party there. I'd also recommend Gramercy Tavern and I Trulli (in the Flatiron District). I think they have private rooms. Good luck!

Public. I got quotes from them recently for their private wine room.

ACK! Blue Water Grill is booked for that day, so I'm back to check out some more suggestions. I'm making a list so keep those suggestions coming! My friend mentioned Vento and Blue Fin too. I've been to Blue Fin but not Vento. Any other ideas?? TIA!

Re: NYC Bachelorette Dinner
I recommend Philip Marie in the west village. They have a private room downstairs and there food is great. Also, my husband was invited to a bachelor party at Cite and that place is cool because after 8 I think they have an unlimited wine menu with 3 course dinner for about $50 a person. This is a nice place.
Other places I have done nice Bachelotte parties was Ruby Foos (they had a semi-private room at the uptown location) and Eight Mile Creek which is an Australian restaurant and they were great.

Eight Mile Creek is great. I used to live down by there. The food is wonderful and their Pavlova dessert... mmm.
Planning is going great! We picked out rentals a couple of weeks ago and went to Wolffer to try their sparkling wine. I found out they're expanding the patio and will be able to accomodate more people! (Not that I'm likely to take advantage since we want to keep it small, but it's good to know since several of my friends are coupling up lately and I don't want to worry about not including people.)
