NYC fun place for quiet gitls afternoon out??

A group of friends and I get together every few months inthe city without men, and eat. A few of the girls are / have been pregnant, so we've been doing afternoon tea (the Plaza and lady mendls')

We are looking for something else - maybe a fondue place or a creperie

Does anyone have any suggestions?

There is Artisinal (2 Park Avenue/on 33rd) that has good cheese fondue but very pricey.

I saw a place on 3rd - in the low 30's - I think the name is Dip Cafe - not sure anything about it but I think it is a fondue loungey place. But on weekdays - it doesn't seem like it opens until the evening...not sure on weekends.

Not fondue or creperie place but what about Serendipity3 ? It is an ice cream parlor/restaurant. I have been there, the food is pretty good and the ice cream sundaes are wonderful.
Their frozen hot chocolate is what they are known for and it's soooo delicious.

I did a google search and there's a place called Crooked Tree Creperie on 110 St. Marks Place between Ave A and 1st street.
If you do a google search on the name of the restaurant you should be able to get their phone number. I never heard of it so I don't know how good they are. If you go on www.citysearch.com and search for the restaurant there you might get a review.

La Bonne Soup is good for fondue and frites!

I also second Serendipity 3.

Have you ever been to tea& Sympathy or to tea at Kings Carriage House? I heard these were good too!

There's also Dim Sum in Chinatown!
