nyc in love theme

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for ideas for a NYC in love kind of theme. So far i wanted to take pictures outside of particular places and use the place for tables instead of numbers. My save the dates were show tickets magnets inside a playbill style card...maybe postcards in the flower centerpieces? I'm drawing a blank now because everything else I see is way over the top... i love the theme but i want it to still be romantic, not to theme-ey. Hope that makes sense!

I LOVE this idea!! Though there are a million little nooks throughout the city that are dear to my heart, here are some of the most FAMILIAR romantic spots I can think of off the top of my head:

-the top of the Empire State Building
-Serendipity ice cream parlor (maybe the 2 of you sharing a milkshake?)
anywhere in Central Park
-the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (there is also a rooftop bar that has a panoramic view of Central Park)
-on the piers at South Street Seaport
-the Brooklyn Bridge
-Luna Park
-Washington Square
-Wolman ice skating rink at Central Park (great view of the Plaza)
-the lobby of the Waldorf
-the zoo at central park
-Riverside Park on the west side (think You've Got Mail LOL)
-and the EVER romantic storefronts of Tiffany & Co, Cartier, Saks, Barneys, Bendels.....

the brooklyn heights promanade,
the fountain in central park,
strawberry fields,
serendipty,
on top of the rock,
the botanical gardens
little italy
empire state building
skating at rockerfeller center
the worlds fair site in flushing meadows
replica of the LOVE statue...not sure where it is I think Midtown

this is all i could think of now if i get more ideas I will repost

Thanks guys! These are great... any ideas for centerpieces or favors? I was trying to find a placecard holder thats a train, but the only one I could find had 'baby' on it... keep the ideas coming - they're great!

You might totally hate this as a centerpiece, but I just came across it in a search. I also found these cute toy taxicabs. I think they were 45 dollars for 12.

i love those candle pieces!!!

Manhattan as a signature drink or big apple martini
Favors could be black and white cookies
Bagels on the way out could be cute

not sure your budget, but the transit museum/store has tons of cute stuff!!

or maybe you can use the train letter to spell LOVE. L, V, & E are actual trains so that is easy...and for the 'o' you can have a heart

You say you don't want it to be too theme-y, so if you're doing the table numbers then in my opinion you don't need anything other than flowers or candles for the centerpiece.

Instead of doing something for the centerpieces, you might want to do a certain type of decoration for your cake...it'll make people get up and look at it, making it more interactive. On Ace of Cakes (on Food Network), I saw them make edible postcards that were placed all around the cake.
