NYC Marriage license question...

NYC Marriage license question...

i dont get what they're talking about the surname....so if I choose to put it on the certificate but never really formally change it anywhere else, is that a problem?

I'm soooo confused!

surname = last name/family name

Are you changing your name? At some point or another you will have to change it for your banks/dmv/credit cards etc. b/c that will be your new legal name.
