NYC PUBLIC SCHOOLS SUUUCK!!!

I wish I had the time you teachers had... So what if you only get friday off. LOL

Be glad you get July & august. Unless you teach summer school.

I was going to take the day but FFIL is back in the hospital and they arent sure yet what it is (they know its heart related) so I want to save my days in case we need to go there.

I also think its insane - come on...1 more day isnt going to make the kids any smarter

i know its so bad to complain and you non teachers must think we are sooo spoiled - but trust me.. we need that time off!

Fh seems ok about it...I think hes putting a front on but hopefully his dad will be ok.

haha- I feel the same way! My kids are very smart!

So If i wanted to become a teacher just for the vacations, am I TOTALLY crazy!!!

Actually all my teacher friends work the summers (camps, mall etc...) because like us, they are engaged/married paying mortgages & they need the money$$$$.

IF i work the schools, I think I would rather work in the offices.

I would hate me too. This year we have the absolute best calender. After this break we work for 3 weeks and then we are off a full week for April break and then before you know it it is June

I write curriculum over the summer, plus working a 2nd job. We're working those 2 months off, trust me.

We have off, Thurs, Fri, Mon and Tuesday.

FH has off all this week.

When do NYC schools start? Where are the days in the calender to make up for what you're not getting off this week?
