I love Tao and Ruby Foo's which are both Asian style (Thai, Japanese, everything really). And also Rosa's....(can't remember the rest of the name). It's an upscale mexican restaurant.

Il Mulino. Italian. Like you died and went to heaven. Super expensive, hard to get a reservation. Worth every penny, and the wait. An experience, not only a meal.

Blue Water Grill, on Union Square. Mostly seafood. Just incredible.

***Flor De Sol- tapas downtown (on Franklin, I think??) VERY reasonable for NYC. Easy to get reservations. Beautiful, dark woods. An occasional Flamenco dancer, but she's unobtrusive and wonderful. The sangria is out of this world. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Have fun!

Sorry, I put the **'s there to say it was good. I did NOT write *****. Didn't want to confuse anyone.

Son Cubano- Cuban food...its amazing!

you liked it that much? i loved the place but the food wasnt as great as other cuban restaurants ive been to and dh and i like to go often to cuban restaurants. Maybe they were having an off night when i went.

I been to Son Cubano the food was ok. I am very picky when it comes to spanish food I compare it to my Grandmother or Mother's So I usually leave not very impress.

i heard victors cafe is awesome cubana food, havent been but alot of people rave about it.

Ooh its good too. I still prefer Caban tho. Victors is directly next door from my job Denise. Our bosses actually took the whole staff there when we were hired! It was the best job initiation EVER!

I went to morimoto like 3 weeks ago. The restaurant is nice and the food is good, its more expensive than buddakan by a decent amount, plus i liked food alot better at buddakan and the restaurant itself. Definitely try morimoto too though its still good

Is Buddakan asian food also? Do you think Watawa has better sushi than Morimoto? DH doesn't like going to eat sushi anywhere only at Watawa, I think Watawa brainwashed him

its asian fusion, look at the menu online, its been a long time since i went out to eat somewhere and seriously with each bite kept saying 'OMG this is the best thing' For YEARS Tao has been dh's favorite and says nobody compares. For his birthday i took him to buddakan and he said now buddakan is his favorite, he hated at first to admit it was better bc i think he was a bit upset we weren't going to tao hahahah but now he LOVES it

things ive eaten at buddakan are frog legs that are AMAZING, edamame dumplings, chicken and shrimp spring rolls, lobster rolls. Their crab friend rice is so good too. They have a shrimp main entree that is great. The charred fillet of beef had to be the most perfect piece of beef i ever had haha, it melted in my mouth and already had some sauce on it and then on the side they had another sauce that you also put on it and it is the best thing. Dessert is good too.

http://www.buddakannyc.com/

morimoto we didnt eat sushi, we had a bunch of apps such as tuna tartar, tuna pizza, and the rock shrimp. The apps were very good

for dinner i had lobster tail with clams in this sauce, it came in kinda like a soup bowl filled with sauce and not that much lobster or clams in it. The dessert i had was so awesome though, very delicious. I enjoyed the apps and dessert more than the dinner.

So if your dh doesnt want to eat sushi elsewhere then say you wont eat sushi there but have other things instead
