Yay I'm a social worker too! I applied to the DOE but I'm not licensed yet (taking the exam next month) so they basically told me I wasn't eligible to apply.

heyy actually i'm at a special ed school now finishing my final placement and my supervisor is leaving in june probably so they will most likely be looking to hire. its called the lorge school FM me if you want more info! (he hasnt given his notice yet its hush hush but i can keep you posted!)

also there are some organizations that put social workers into schools, so they can help you find positions. one that i know of is called turnaround for children

Try here:

http://schools.nyc.gov/Careers/default.htm

The link that says 'other career opportunities'. I can't remember if that's where I applied or not. If I recall, I didn't apply to a specific job posting but just sent in a generic application.

Thanks! Unfortunately, 2 of my friends failed by only a few points which makes me VERY nervous. Yet I know a lot of people that passed. I'll definitely need LIW prayers on that day!
