Hey ladies, I am looking for any recommendations for a venue for a small wedding probably about 50-70 people in the Manhattan that also has room for dancing?? Any thoughts?

You may want to consider Alger House or maybe The Foundry in LIC. For a group of that size a restaurant might be a good option. I have attended a wedding at Providence and it was great. There was a gal on the Knot that was married at Branch (owned by the same people at Providence) and she was very pleased with they way things turned out.

I've heard the Alger House is really neat. and u can only have up to 105 guests...they're under vendors under Reception locations for NYC. I'd also check out the Boathouse in Central park, or look into penthouse lofts. They have some really cool ones that can be rented out for parties...the only thing is that u'd probably have to provide all the tables & chairs & such which can build up a rental bill...but it's a really neat idea & the views are usually amazing. Anyways good luck! also try picking up the 'Locations Sites & Services' magazine. It has a TON of manhattan locations.

My sisiter got married at the 3 West Club. She only had about 50 people. It was beautiful and the food was great! Also, tons of room for dancing!

Do you know how much per person they charge, if you don't mind me asking???

Just today I checked out Battery Gardens...I liked it...can hold from 50-200. They close down the whole restaurant for your wedding; outdoor capability; all windows face Statue of Liberty. FI's issue was that it looked 'old'...but I think most places in NYC will have that 'old' charm. I met with Yvette today (one of the banquet managers) and she was very sweet.

I'm having my wedding at 3 West Club. They require a minimum of 100 guests. If you're still interested you can FM me. I aslo looked at the Alger House. It's a very small place but for 50 guests that would be perfect. The only thing I didn't like about the place is the entrance, it's very tight, NYC style. In fact my FH hit his head on the steel beam over the stairwell on his way out. They quoted us $90 for a sunday night wedding.

I actually just got off the phone with 3 West and they seem great, what did you think of the place when you went to see it? Their prices sound very reasonable!

I did speak with her we are going for a Friday night wedding so we didn't need a minimum of 100 bu 60 people. We are going to meet with them on the 30th. I just don't want that big wedding anymore and we wanted something more intimate at this point so we are going to downsize. Do you have any other pics of the place?
