NYC vs LI

FOr those of you who have been guests at weddings in both LI & Manhattan, do you have more fun at one vs the other?

I went to a wedding in Little Italy - it was AMAZING. They closed down an Italian restaurant - it was so great.

But, that being said, driving home was a b*tch. I chose somewhere on LI only because I have more people coming from LI. Good luck!

I think the amount of fun you have has more to do with the crowd of people and the band, not necessarily the location.

That being said, I think both locations are nice. I feel that you can get more bang for your buck with a LI wedding because more LI places have outdoor space than NYC.

We did LI instead of NYC b/c it would be way too hard for my guests to get there and home - only a small handful actually live in NYC.

Same here.
I have been to one wedding here in NYC and it was beautiful. But I would hate to ask my family and friends to drive into the city, try to find or pay for parking, deal with possible traffic. I love my church here, but it is just not worth the hassle, so we are doing it all in LI where FI lives. Plus we just get more for our money-reception wise-in LI.

I guess it would depend on where your guests live and your budget. NY weddings tend to be more expensive...

Almost all of my guests from the NY area live in the city and most of my OOT guests plan to make a vacation out of it, so the city was a better choice for me!
