OK, so we have yet to book our reception. (we're known to leave things for last minute) Honestly, I feel like just flying to an island but his family would go nuts! lol
When looking for your caterer, did anyone ever consider NYC? If so, where did you go look and what did you like?
We love Manhattan and it's convenient for everyone. I was thinking maybe a hotel or a nice loft.
How about Renaissance in LIC? The pics look gorgeous and I'd love to do the pianist during cocktail hour!
Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I live in Manhattan but most of the prices were too high for my budget. I actually booked Renaissance for my now postponed July wedding. I loved the place on first sight. It's a beautiful place, very intimate. The only drawback is it's a restaurant so it's not off by itself like most catering halls. Go visit. You'll get a better impression than in the photos.

I spoke to Louise. She's the manager there. I never had that problem. Whenever I called she would pick up the phone herself. I've never had to leave a message.

Re: NYC wedding anyone?
I'm getting married at a hotel in Manhattan: www.parkermeridien.com. I went to a lot of venues in Manhattan, so feel free to FM with any questions. Off the top of my head, there's:
LoftEleven, Studio 450-- both great loft spaces with nice city views Battery Gardens (down by Battery Park, with a great view of the Statue of Liberty) The Boathouse at Central Park The Pratt Mansion (across from the Met, very charming) Manhattan Penthouse-- cool view The W Hotel in Union Square The Puck Building (SoHo, loft-like space in cool building) Angel Orsanz Foundation-- never been but it looks really cool-- its an old temple that's now a museum. There's a place in South Street Seaport that has a nice view of the river, can't think of the name right now!
Can't think of any others now, but there are so many!
