Hi girls, I'm new to this whole engagement/ wedding thing. i'm based in california but am originally from long island. My boyfriend is currently based in chicago so it is hard to plan a wedding in NY. Does anybody have any tips on places in the city? What is the average price for a place in NY? Has anybody seen 3 west club in person? any help would greatly appreciated.
thank you, dm

Re: nyc winter wedding
well, it does not have to be in the city but i think we will probably end up having it there. I'll check the site you listed as i'm open to anything.
Hey, I am also new to the site! I grew up on Long Island but I live in Texas and I am trying to plan the wedding from Houston. From the places that I called (Jericho Terrace, Westbury Manor, Carltun, Milleridge Inn, Cresthollow CC, Fox Hollow, Woodbury CC, The Woodlands, Floral Terrace, Swan Club, Royalton at Roslyn Heights, Huntington Townhouse) everyone seems to be cheaper in the winter. Does anyone know which places actually look nice in the winter? I am getting married in March of 08 and the weather could be 65 degrees or 16 degrees and I need a versatile location that will be beautiful in the sun and in the snow. Please respond when everyone gets a chance! Thanks

Hey there! Welcome and congrats!!! Wow, you've contacted quite a few places I've heard that WM is beautiful during the winter.
You should post this on the Brides Helping Brides board and I'm sure you'll get LOTS of responses from past brides.
Good luck

Congrats and welcome to both newbies!!!! First off... Navywife.... skip right over Huntington Townhouse, it's definitely not what it used to be! For both of you.... check out Flower Fields... I hear it's supposed to be absolutely stunning for winter! Definitely do what I think Jeanine said and repost on Brides Helping Brides.... Good luck!

Welcome! I don't know about all of the places you mentioned but I do not recommend Huntington Townhouse. I do recommend WM, they have gorgeous grounds all year long. I haven't seend Milleridge in the winter but I can imagine that too being nice all year round

Re: nyc winter wedding
All the places you have picked are beautiful. I personally would not bother with Huntington Townhouse. I am being biased about WM because I love it there. Keep us posted on your search.
