NYC Workers - how did everyone make it in this morning?
I had zero problem! Soooo happy. I take the F and they had said they'd be stopping every subway that went to the west side to check it but they didn't stop mine. Got in at the regular time today! Only 7 more trips and this'll be over.

I had no problems either. I think most people took this week off so there are alot less people on trains on the streets.

I took my regular express bus. Got into the city from my door in exactly 20 minutes.
If I had stayed on the bus I would have been 1/2 hour early for work...So I got off and took a nice walk uptown...The streets are pretty organized...Looking good...

I took the R from Forest Hills to 28th and B'way. No problems at all. DH works on 31st between 9th and 10th, so he just had to walk up 34th from Penn instead of 31st - he said everything was fine.

There was a slight delay of about 5 minutes on the LIRR, but once I arrived at Penn Station, everything was fine, actually, I don't think I've ever seen Penn Station so empty during rush hour before!! My subway ride downtown from there was fine.

I was going to bypass Penn but ran really late this morning. Decided to bite the proverbial bullet and go thru Penn anyway.... I was only 10 minutes later than usual; but still on time. Thank goodness.

my train from Westchester (I take Metro North into GCT) was EMPTY, not to mention came into GCT EARLY!
I took my time walking to work and actually had a stress-free, hassle-free morning..
I hope it stays like this all week for ALL of US

I had no problesm either.
I meant to take the 6 down from GCT, but I forgot & wnet on auto pilot to the shuttle & had to take the 1 down from 42nd to 28th. Cops poked there head in each car on the train, but it didn't hold it up much. 1/9 trains are usually at 42nd street for a while anyway b/c of transfers with the 2/3.
When I got out at 28th there were over 50 cops there! I think that was a meeting area for them. There are no cars on 7th, even though I think they are allowed down here, there isn't any place for them to really come from.
I'm just a little concerned about ups & mail deliveries for my job.

I told you all it would be a piece of cake.
This whole 'scary' thing about the convention is just overrated. We are New Yorkers and we can deal with it.
Damm I wish the RNC was here every week. I made record time coming in!
