Thrilled, Lix. Sha, TammyJill, Cindy and all other NYPD wives or future wives........
Along with all of the brave soldiers overseas, may our future husbands be kept safe as they try to keep others safe during these difficult times.
I am feeling sorry for myself that 2 months before my wedding, my FH will be working 12 hour tours, but I am SO PROUD OF HIM, THE NYPD and the UNITED STATES MILITARY.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

Re: NYPD ladies.......
The BM (FI best friend) in my wedding and my aunt are all over there fighting in the war. I pray that my sister (maid of honor) who is in the air force will not also go over there. My FI is also a NYPD officer. I continue to pray for all of them and everyone over there to come home safely.
God Bless Everyone

Re: NYPD ladies.......
Rliving...you said it very well. My husband is not NYPD. He works on the island. My heart does go out especially to the NYPD who are on such high alert and all other PDs. Let them all be safe!!!!!

Like I say every night 'Stay safe, baby.' when he leaves for work. All we can do is continue to pray.

Re: NYPD ladies.......
I always say 'I didn't marry a coward, but I didn't marry a dead man either, so come home safe!' That always gets a laugh before he leaves.

Re: NYPD ladies.......
This is so funny because I always tell Sean to 'be safe' when he walks out the door and if I forget he gives me 'the look' and doesn't leave until I say it and if he has overtime, he'll call so he can hear me say it.
No matter where they are, Long Island (wish Sean was there ) The City etc..... they are all heroes!!
I think I posted it to counter my guilt for feeliong selfish about him having to work overtime and meanwhile I am worried about wedding crap!! Know what I mean?

Re: NYPD ladies.......
I do the same thing. Every time Mark walks out the door I tell him to say be careful, same when he calls.
GOD BLESS ALL OUR SOLDIERS WHEREEVER THEY ARE FIGHTING!!!

Re: NYPD ladies.......
Not an NYPD wife but an FDNY one. I have the same ritual with Steve, before he leaves I always tell him to stay safe and be careful. While he's working I also find myself holding the mini badge I wear around my neck and wishing him a safe return home.
GOD BLESS and may all the valiant men and women working to keep our country safe ..STAY SAFE

Re: NYPD ladies.......
Poor Michelle - you're so sweet, we'll make you an Honorary Police Wife (although I bet your FDNY hubby won't like that too much! LOL!). There are no other fire wives for you to talk to....so you can hang with us!

Re: NYPD ladies.......
I agree with Rachel!!! FDNY wives welcome!! Since most of our NYPD hubbys are volunteer firemen anyway. (mine is)

Re: NYPD ladies.......
And let's not forget about the Port Authority police who are protecting our airports, the piers, the bus terminal, PATH, and bridges and tunnels between NY and NJ. . .all prime targets for terrorists . My sweetie has been working madatory 12 hour days since 9/11 and just recently got back personal days. (They took all vaction time away for 8 months and personal days for over a year.) ALL Police Officers and Firemen are in my thoughts and prayers EVERYDAY. No matter where they are, they have the toughest job out there and are always in danger, We never say 'goodbye' just 'I'll speak with you later. Have a safe day at work'

Rlivings, don't feel too bad for yourself. My FH is a Port Authority PO and works 12 hr. shifts everyday. You get used to it!
