NYS Election Question
I thought Stephen Kaufman was a Democrat.
But he ran in 3 primaries? Democrat, Republican and Conservative? How can he do that?
I just assumed he was a Democrat. Now I just read he is one but said he he won, would vote Republican. I don't understand that. Does he think his vote will make more of a difference if he's Dem and votes Rep in Albany?
And turns out that Klein beat Kaufman in the Democratic Primary so Klein is now on the Dem ticket. Fleming beat Kaufman in the Republican Primary so he's on the Rep ticket. HOWEVER Kaufman beat Fleming on the Conservative ticket (or maybe Kaufman won the REp ticket...can't remember now) but either way all 3 are still running for election.
And let me tell you the people who stand the legal amount of feet away from the polling place were out in FULL FORCE yesterday. I've never seen anything like it. Van's with loudspeakers, people on every corner with pamphlets about who is the best candidate...I've never see this before in my neighborhood (yet I think the only other time I voted in my neighborhood was for mayor).
It's gonna be one helluva election this Nov.
