320G's is not cheap, and these people had to actually gut the house?!

320K is great to be in Williston Park...its a great SD...and if the median price in Nassau is $405K...they got a great deal...

Misty sorry to depress you. I read the article and thought it might help shed some light on the current state of the housing market. Maybe for those who are looking to buy a fixer upper.

Nooo! Sweety, not your fault! It did really help! We have resigned ourselves to the idea that a fixer upper is in our future.....

I get depressed every single time I look at ANYTHING housing related. I just realize how far we have to go on saving for our down payment. Nothing I have seen is something I would want to live in, for the prices they are asking. I am so afraid that we are going to forced to buy high, and that since there is really nowhere left to go on these houses...we will be screwed!

I know 320 isn't a lot of money for a house in that area...but it is in most cases, it's a lot of money for the average working Joe's to afford on a mortgage every month. And, I still find it insulting that people who put nothing into their homes, insist on selling for beyond top dollar.

Great article, there is hope for me. $320 is excellent in Williston Park. Totally understand the price is still a bit high but in this market I dont think this is it for the market. The days of buying for under $300k are gone.

You would think that was me and FH in the article!!
We got our house (in the next town over from Willy Park) in the same situation. But thank God that we have such great friends and family members who are so handy that are ready and willing to help us- cause our house was stuck in the 60's.

all about supply and demand...people are demanding to live in LI...that pushes the price up!! Just think how much the person bought the house for!!! Hopefully we will all be sucking all the money out of the next generation when we sell!!!
