O for Organization

How are you keeping yourself organized during this wedding planning process? Do you feel you got everything under control or do you feel you are slacking off a bit?

I am keeping myself organized with my wedding planning binder I purchased. It's so useful to be able to have all my contracts in one place and it keeps everything really neat. At this time, I feel like I have everything under control...I'm just freaking out about the cost of the wedding!

I have a file cabinet that I broke down into diff folders halls, dj, dress, limo, flowers, invitations, favors, centerpieces, engagement party, registry, church, marrage liscence, honeymoon, and seating chart I think is all of them. I write down notes and put them in each folder. I also have a notebook that I carry with me everytime we go to do wedding stuff and write down a few sentences on what we thought of the place our likes and dislikes.
I also have a timeline of when I want to do things I broke everything up so I have a break inbetween everything so I dont get stressed.

So it all started with a binder and a lot of tabs lol. I pretty much put everything and anything I found in there. Then it got so obnoxious that I had to weed some things out and make decisions on things I really liked and things not so much. It's still big but not as crazy lol

What I actually found useful has been my planning bio I made using the free TK wedding site. I pretty much upload ideas I have for things like centerpieces, bouquets, pew decor, etc. I also have all the dresses I would like to try on posted on thr site. As I try them on, I take off the ones I didn't like so much. It helps me keep track of what I have left.

As far as budget, I have found the WeddingWire.com budget to be very easy to use and update. It's great to have it all laid out in front of you and you can easily move $$ around to where you need it more. I have also found that the guest list/seating chart is very useful on there as well.

I have been trying to keep myself organized. I started a bill payment tracker, a wedding vendor payment schedule, and a timeline for booking vendors. So far it's working...

anything I can do to not be stressed helps me out, no matter how crazy FH thinks I am.

I have a wedding organizer that all papers go in each section so for now I'm organized..we'll see how I am as the day gets closer..I have visions of papers flying all over haha

I have a little notebook that I write down everything in. Anytime I have an idea, I pull it out and it write down. it has all my next payments, meetings, etc in it. i know I should a real wedding planner binder, but I love my little dinky notebook!

Everything is on my computer (bad idea if it crashes). I look for so many ideas online and on LIW that it's easier for me to copy and paste to MS word. I will be moving things to a binder as I begin to book vendors and such.

Wow- You guys are SO organized. I love the tips and hearing the different ways to get it together!

I originally had one notebook dedicated to everything wedding, but all the pages are totally and completely full now!! I also had a folder file of all the loose things and catering hall info, etc, but then it broke!!

So that's why I'm at a loss to get back on track to organization. Well, I booked my venue today and they gave me this huge planner and I love it so I think I'm going to try and start using that.

LOL me too!! I had a bad day and decided to take it out on the wedding planning!! I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown!!!

i have a wedding planning book with an accordion folder attached that's broken down into different categories. Right now, all my inspiration cut outs from magazines are in there, but as I get things done, I will replace those with contracts and impt info. I also save A LOTTTT of things on the computer, but what if something happens, then im s c r e w e d! I have to get a USB thingy to back up all my stuff.
