Oakdale Arboretum???

Consider yourself lucky! The permit for Planting Fields Arboretum is over $100. and my photographer has to submit a $2 million certificate of insurance!

The parks are getting smart; they don't want you to get something for nothing. They're all going to jump on board sooner or later. If you go to the Bayard Cutting office in the main house, they have a flyer that gives you the details.

Since this is becoming standard practice (Certificates of Insurance in the millions are extremely common), you can use this to size up the photographer.

What I mean is, we saw 5 photographers in one day and they balked at having to get 'approval' to photograph at our ceremony site and were flip about the COI. Only one wasn't, and she turned out to be the best of the group; we hired her. We told her about the others and she advised that, especially on LI where there are a lot of historical sites that require this type of thing, the COI is common and doesn't cost anything. And she has paid for permits before up front and included it in the fee for the customer.

If a photographer doesn't have $2 mil in liability insurance, they may not be a great choice. I've been told it's industry standard.

Sorry to ramble, this is something I recently learned, and wanted to share!

I am alittle upset about this info....FH and I wanted to take our pictures there on our wedding day.....any other info on this please post and let me know.
