I am trying to figure out if my Dr. is bad or I am being too picky. So far I haven't had health issues/problems and have been happy with him. However, at the last appt, something not so good was discovered. Its wasn't horrible news, but not the best. I was notifed over the phone and set up an appt. for questions.
At my appt. last night, I found out more not so good news, and got a little upset b/c the doctor didn't notify me of them prior to the appt. His excuse was: Well, I was going to see you anyway, so I waited instead of calling.
Also, while answering my questions, I thought the doctor was really businesslike, stating information matter of factly. He also didn't offer any sort of resource information, such as books or internet resource (besides his own advice).
Should I seek a new doc? I am not ready to TTC just yet, but would rather have someone now whom I can go to when preggo. I just don't know if I feel comfortable, knowing that he hold onto information for a while and also that he was so businesslike. There was no emotion involved.
He does however pride himself in delivering babies, etc.
Am I wrong/too picky?

Re: OBGYN Question
If you aren't comfortable find a new Dr.
There are 3 women and 2 men where I go. I find the women are a much better source of support.

That's the best advice. If you're even questioning whether or not to switch, it's time to switch.

Re: OBGYN Question
I agree as well, you need to be comfortable with your doctor. If you don't trust him, find another...good luck!

Re: OBGYN Question
If you don't like the way the dr handled things and you don't feel comfortable, then switch drs. Its very important that you feel confident with your dr.

Re: OBGYN Question
I would definetly get a second opinion, especially if you are not comfortable with this dr.

Re: OBGYN Question
I would definetely switch. If you dont feel comfortable, then you should follow your inner feeling. At the very least, I would go to someone else to see what they say about the issue you are dealing with. Good luck.

I agree w/the other ladies that you might want to begin researching other doctors.
I think that its common for many doctors to approach their patients in 'businesslike' ways b/c that is how they approach their jobs in general. Not every doctor has a wonderful bedside manner and knows how to show compassion, emotion or even sympathy. Some of them probably feel that it's simply impossible to get emotionally involved in every single patient's case.

Re: OBGYN Question
I don't really think anything was that unusual or inappropriate but I agree that you should switch. The important thing is that you are comfortable.
