My RSVP date came & went last Saturday with around 40 people who failed to respond either way. Soooo annoying. So i tracked down mostly everyone and got their answers (still waiting on 7 more people). But there was one who is just annoying the crap outta me!
I texted her last Saturday and asked if she was coming. Instead of just a simple 'Yes or No', she told me that she'd talk to me the next day at church instead. That was annoying enough. So on Sunday, she RUNS outta church as soon as it's over, never talking to me or anything. Grr. I was like - Dude, if ya don't wanna come that's fine! Just let me know. So then I texted her again, reminding her that we were supposed to talk, and I asked again if she's coming. She said that she is. I asked if she's bringing her boyfriend. She didn't respond. So hours later I texted again, questioning on if she's bringing a guest or not and still nothing. I called, but no answer (I don't think she's avoiding me, she just works weird hours). So I dunno. As of now i have her down for Solo. But it's gonna piss me off if she shows up on the day of with a date.
I'm gonna try tracking her down again today. But this is really irritating. I can't wait till she gets married. Hopefully I'm invited so i can do the same thing to her (INSERT my scary devil face here)
anybody else had any obnoxious guests like this????? Or am i the only inviting irresponsible, selfish people.

Re: obnoxious guest
i can beat this!
i had the obnoxious groomsman.
he showed up to pick up his rental the day before the wedding.
ummm the dumbas$ never went in to get fitted & ordered.
he told dh the day of when, dh called to ask where he was & found out about this.
so instead of a no show guest or added guest, i had this moron..the last minute drop out groomsman.

Re: obnoxious guest
I had a guest tell me he won't know if he could make it until 2 days before the wedding! I told him that's too bad but we needed our final count for the reception by that day (which was a lie, but who cares) and we couldn't change our number after that. He then told me I should count him as a no, so I did.
Text or email this to your friend: 'Is you boyfriend coming to my wedding? I need to tell the reception hall by 5pm tomorrow and can't change anything after that. So please let me know by then otherwise unfortunately I'd have to count him as a no. Thanks.'

Re: obnoxious guest
yeah, i have a cousin who's waiting to tell me if she'll be bringing her boyfriend or not. They've only been dating a month, so she's kind of unsure if they'll still be together at that point, even nervous to ask him yet. So I gave her till the second week in December to let me know (even tho technically I don't have to give in the final count until about a week or two after that).

People are obnoxious. I too had to track someone down. I asked their mom and sister who kept saying she was coming but still the invite went to her she should of called me or sent the RSVP back like everyone else did!

Yeah, that's kinda like when people give an IOU at the wedding instead of a check. I feel like that's just a way of making yourself feel & look better about not giving a gift - when in reality, those people NEVER seem to give what they apparently say that they 'owe'

I think we all had our share Instead of texting her why not just call her and talk about it.

Re: obnoxious guest
i had a 'friend' who didn't show up to my shower or a few other events after rsvping yes....i decided a few days before the wedding not to add her in my final count or make a placecard....well she showed up and the matri-de (sp) had to show her to her table....tough love, but that's what you get for being rude numerous times prior!

I feel nervous about that actually!! I have a work buddy who totally RSVPed yes to everything, and yet failed to show up at my Shower. She's done this before too - to other events (not involving my wedding). Like she's all about coming and then suddenly doesn't show. My mother said not to include her in final count, but she said she's coming and I would feel horrible if I don't add her and then she shows up. I dunno what to do about her.

people totally suck. i have a cousin who is a lawyer. i'm getting married in two days. her dad (my uncle) called exactly a week before the wedding saying she will be there. three other people backed out after they rsvp'd. it's just annoying.

ya thats annoying! Sorry! But you still have plenty of time. Im sure you wanted to get them in early cus your wedding is near the holidays. But I'd say give people another 2.5-3 weeks before you start asking. Then start hounding them!

I actually can't wait any longer to find out from people. That's why i made the rsvp date over a month before the wedding. I need extra time for the Favors I'm doing, plus I might be under my minimum, so I need enough time to get the final count and invite extra people without it cutting too close to the actual date. So people are driving me crazy with taking their sweet @ss time.

it go to the point where i needed to choose between possibly paying extra because of her or adding her in day of...i just couldn't bring myself to pay for her....it's all about how you feel. i personally didn't care if our friendship faded, but it worked the opposite...she's been really trying now. i guess someone needed to show her that it isn't okay to flake!
