Except that, on here, you have a lot of brides who have ordered from her and given great reviews. I didn't read a single bad review of her work--and I checked here on LIW, on the Knot, and on Weddingbee--so I ordered, and I'm really happy with my veil.

Beautiful veil! Were you at all afraid that you wouldn't like the veil being that you couldn't see it before you paid for it? My family thinks I'm nuts even thinking of buying a veil off the internet. They are telling me to go to the fashion district... but I feel like going to someone with a picture of what I want and having to have it ordered is pretty much the same as showing someone online a picture of what I want. Either way I have to pay for it before I see it completed... I don't know what to do.... but I'm running out of time so I need to do something!

Well basically the whole process worked like this- I sent her a pic of my dress and told her I wanted to find a way for the design of the veil to be similar to the detail on my dress. She sent me a website of the appliques she uses- and we talked about which ones worked best. Then she ordered the appliques (had to give a $50 deposit) and would arrange them and then sent me pictures of that design only....I would give her suggestions and she'd adjust it and keep sending back pics until we finalized a design. Then I told her to go through with it, I sent in the full payment and she began to create the veil. I got it about a week later!! Seriously, you cannot go wrong. She's amazing!!

I have been recommending her and have yet to even place my order! I've only read good reviews about her, her prices are great, and her work is TOTALLY customizable - can't get better than that.

I found my dream veil (that I tried on in the bridal salon for $300) at a fraction of the price online, so I never ordered from Kathy at Occansey.

I JUST decided to add a cathedral layer under my already purchased fingertip veil and contacted Kathy to do it for me. Since I don't want poofy, she is making it less wide at the comb, and then standard width at the bottom - I have yet to find another vendor who does this. Usually you can pick your width, but it would be the same width all the way through - since I already have my fingertip AND a blusher, I really couldn't use a regular width at the top of the cathedral because it would just be TOOOOOOO poofy at the top - a look I personally didn't want.

Anyway, good luck! She seems to do great work and had an EXTENSIVE gallery of different veils on her site.
