Hi Ladies, I am a groom that is getting married later this year (August) and I want to know if it is normal for a bride to be totally consumed with the wedding. She is always on liweddings.com & theknot.com and is 24/7 wedding talk. I have gotten advise to just let it pass from my boys but I want to know if all brides are this crazy, HELP

Welcome to the obsession. Many of us are still on here even after being married. I would have to say we are a little community that trys to help each other when needed.

it will pass, but be careful even after the wedding. my cousin was a bit upset, after she didn't have anymore 'planning' to do. my fh has already been warned. good luck and be patient.

nan&dave ... my fh use to poke fun asking what was i going to do after the wedding was over... ive toned down with going on the computer... however after the wedding there is the newlywed board, nwr board, home board and parenting board still....

Perfectly normal to be slightly obsessed. One warning sign that she has gone to far though is if she talks to us more than she talks to her friends or you and she refers to us like she knows us and she really doesn't.
It will subside, but right now she is working her hardest to make sure that you both have a wedding day that is beautiful and perfect.
If you can, ask her to show you some of her ideas for the wedding (nothing that has to do with her dress or hair, though). If you show her how interested you are, she might not glue herself to the computer as much. My FH did me the favor of calling about limos and I feel like I am slightly less obsessed now knowing that he is doing something for this day.

pretty normal - wedding planning is so much fun and there are so many things to do and so many fun ideas!!! i like emily's idea to take her out to dinner to get her off the computer!!!

I am obsessed and I admit it.. im on here soo much i feel bad sometimes and I know my FI hates it.. hes actually told me hes gunna throw my laptop out the window.. but the way I look at it im getting really good advice, great ideas, ways to save money and im not on ebay anymore spending $$ or out shopping spending money..

Yup...we're all nuts! No shame here. My FI thinks I am also. He says he feels bad for me when the weddings over. I will have nothing to do. Hes right.

welcome to the planning of a wedding!!! i have been consumed but not to the point- well i am on here at 7:45 a.m. so maybe a little.. but i only have 23 days left and then ill be married and wont be planning aymore- i willa ctually miss it!!!

It is completely normal. I think I am a bit obsessed myself. All of this wedding stuff is truly like a fantasy. It will pass. It is just excitement and happiness, she is marrying her prince charming after all
Not all of us, but I know plenty that are. Hopefully she will not go through withdrawl after teh wedding like some do. It's normal though, let her do it and sshhhh!!!! It's only one day and you only get one chance to do it so let her enjoy it!
