Oddball question: Is it just me or do you get ansy or feel lonely when your car is in the shop? (random vent, whine)

Ok, I realize that I am a bit unusually attached to my car but I feel so deserted when my car is in the shop. I keep wondering where it is right now and who’s playing with it.

My car is in for it’s inspection. They called me and said “You need to call us back about your car” I freaked! I really don’t need another bill right now also I get anxious if I don’t know what’s wrong with the car.

Last time I went for an oil change the sheet said something like “condition of vehicle when arriving, pre-existing, customer has knowledge of” – “Front valve leak”. I jumped all over the guys. “This customer does NOT have prior knowledge of this!” I read every and all reports on my car at each oil change, repair, inspection, everything!

They called me (inspection) to say they are gonna fix the cover gasset leak. Which makes me feel better. But I think I scared them when they asked about my timing belt. The oil was covering the casing to the timing belt and they wanted to know if I had changed it because if not they would suggest I did. I point blank answered “60 & 120”. She didn’t know how to reply “60 & 120 what?” “60 thousand and 120 thousand, miles. I do my timing belt every 60 thousand miles, do I need to bump up this schedule?” She had to look up her book on my car. “Nope you’re fine, if you’re sure” LOL If I’m sure?? I can name the year of every major repair on my car!!!

I can NOT imagine life without my car. A car, any car. Im still shocked when I hear about grown women who have never driven in their lives. Even more shocked when I hear MEN who’ve never driven or the men & women who can’t change a tire!!!

I’m feeling so lonely without my car. Now they say I can’t get it back until Wednesday because they ran out of inspection stickers for their machines.

Am I the only one who feels like this? Almost trapped? I can’t just ‘leave’ I have to wait for the car. I feel like the power of freedom has been taken away from me.

I feel the same way... and I too am really attached to my car(s). As far as the inspection stickers.... bring it elsewhere, that is total BS!!!
