% of budget for RH?

% of budget for RH?

What percentage of your total budget should the reception be?

I have no idea what the rest of the wedding related things are going to cost since I haven't priced anything, but I would like to book a hall soon and need to have some idea of what price range pp I should be looking for.

I think most books would tell you that RH is 50% But I feel like those things dont count for more expensive North-eastern weddings. If my RH was to be doubled, my budget would be too rich for my blood.

So far for us the 50% seems accurate.

We've booked most of our major vendors ... still have most of the little things left to do.

I've heard that if you double your RH cost, that should bring you to the total wedding cost.

That works for us if we count just major vendors (photo, video, flowers, dj, limo, invites). But once we add all the little things (like makeup, shoes, accessories, rehearsal dinner, etc etc), we are over that amount.

My hall was very reasonable... and I am DESPERATELY trying to stay within a reasonable budget...

So far it has been about 40% of my budget.

They say 35 to 50% give or take a little.

I think ours was about 45% of our budget.

Ours is about 60% of our total costs (excluding honeymoon)
