# of guests at e-party?

# of guests at e-party?

FH's parents want us to start planning our e-party (they'll be throwing it at their house this summer). So last night we picked a date and needed to let them know approximately how many people we are inviting. So I opened my little excel guest list I have for the wedding and marked those we would like to invite to the e-party. Our wedding guest list is currently at 224, but we're only inviting family (extended to aunts, uncles and first cousins) and then our friends, most of whom will be in the wedding to the e-party. The number is 74 adults and 12 children. FH almost fainted when I told him. Do you think that's a lot of people for an e-party?

Well I know of about at least 5 people who won't, because they live out of town. FH was saying what you are saying also. But because we are only inviting like immediate family (and I have checked with all my friends to make sure the date works for them) I have a feeling our No's won't be a lot.

well does the house have a big enough place for all those people?

Honestly i might be giving you the wrong advice cause I love throwing parties at my house so I figure the more the merrier!!

you also have to think if you cut back the list, who will be mad if they are not invited and someone else is?

we'll probably invite around 220 to our wedding - we invited about 90 or so people to our eparty and we had at least 80 that attended - that was just close family and a few of our friends

His parents live in one of those communities where all the houses look the same. The party will be held in the summer in one of the fields within the community-so space really isn't an issue, since we'll be renting a tent for the field.

That was the other thing FH and I discussed. Not inviting cousin's. But we're both close to our cousins as we all around the same age and it would start a big rucus with the aunts and uncles if we didn't invite the cousins. Our families are huge (my mom is one of 4 and FH's dad is one of 5) and then we have our friends on top of that. So unfortunately there isn't really anyone to cut.
I am ok with the amount of people. Yes I would have been happier if it was like 50 people max, but I am just worried because FH seemed worried to tell his parents the number.

Jesus... we just sent out our invites and we have 140 people invited to the eparty. Strange thing though is that we have a list of about 180 for the wedding.

I don't think that is too bad. We are having about 75 at ours... If we have one. But, when I made up my list- with all my Aunts, Uncle's and First Cousins plus Brother and Sisters and Spouses- it add up! Especially if you have a huge family.

honestly even 60 is not that bad, especially if you ar ein a tent.. and are you all making food or are you having it catered?

We'll be making a lot of the food along with FH's parents.

Seems like a lot of girls had around that many people so now I don't feel as bad.

Second question: I have already had people ask us if we are registered. We aren't and I don't plan on registering for the e-party, just the shower. FH and I already live together so we don't need a lot of stuff, and I feel like if I register for the e-party there wont' be anything left for the shower. Is it bad if I don't register for the e-party, and what do I say if people ask if we are?

We had wanted a small intimate eparty, just aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings and very close friends, and we ended up being about 90 people!! Unfortunately we both have rather large families so nothing is ever small.

maybe put the word out (tactfully) that you just would like money. I mean you can always add things to your registry after your eparty to add to the shower...

we are inviting about a 100 to our eparty and we are not registering. if ppl ask, just tell them no you dont have a registry just yet. hopefully they will get the idea and give $$

We invited 140 people to our eparty and that was just immediate family and the bridal party. We are expecting 100-110 to attend.

It also depends where you are having it.

Re: # of guests at e-party?

We are inviting about 150-175 people to the wedding but we plan on only inviting about 60 to the e-party....figured more intimate, the closest of the close there ....I don't think its too many people for you though, if you can't imagine someone not being there...invite them...if its 200 peole so be it so long as your willing to accomodate them

good luck though!
